Happy New Year ASC Sailors,

I hope everyone had a great holiday season.  Things around the club definitely had a merry ring to them.  Thanks to our very own Head Elf, Marjorie Brosseau and her band of helpers the light the lake event was merry and bright.  I hope you all enjoyed  her daily facebook postings as much as I did.  If you missed them be sure to sign up on the ASC members faccebook page so you don’t miss future shenanigans.  I am told the evening was a bid success.  I hear the big guy himself - Santa that is - even made an appearance.  Thank you Rocky.  Several boats took to the water all decked out in holiday lights.  I am already planning to participate next year.  I have been hitting the 50-75% off sales for lights.  Jay is both thrilled and disappointed. He is thrilled at the cost savings but dreading having to put up and power all the lights I purchased.  I plan to sparkle.  I hope you will join in next year too, even if you don’t enter the parade plan to join the fun.

Mark your calendar for January 19th .  This is the date of the returning Soup & Sip.  While this is billed as a cruisers event everyone is welcome.  Its BYOB and a pot of your favorite soup and/or accompaniment (See flyers at the club or contact Marjorie Brosseau for more information). This also happens to be the date of the full moon.  With that in mind I am officially declaring the location for the January full moon cruise to be fireside at the clubhouse.  Hope to see you there.

I have submitted the dates for the full and new moon for approval and posting on the club calendar so be sure to check it out.  I hope to see you all on the rafting up as soon as the weather warms and drys up a bit.

Please send me your cruising adventures so that I may include them and inspire others.  My email address is renehopkins@comcast.net  I would also love a picture to include.

Until next time I wish you fair wind and following seas.

Rene
