NOR and Rules attached below...
Dates: April 23, May 7, May 21, June 4, June 18, and July 2 Fire Cracker Cup
There is one race per day. PRO and captains set the course at the captains meeting 90 minutes prior to the start of the race.
o Start time for the first race is 12 noon.
o The starting line and finish line is the same for every race. (End of F dock to No Wake Buoy near beach opposite F dock).
o The Course length will be determined by the average wind speed for the next six hours as determined by the hourly forecast on Weatherbug.com. To get the course length, take the slowest boats projected speed for the wind forecast and multiply their hourly speed by three for the length of the course. Plot the length on the map using the pins and string to make the projected length. Spin boats will have a course that is double that length. PRO has final control of the courses if a decision is needed.
o Course is to include one windward leg. (At least it will be projected to be that at the start of racing). All marks are to be government marks. Each racer will be able to score the top 4 races with the Firecracker scored separately and with the series.
o For safety reasons all boats will be asked to monitor the radio on channel 72. A Safety boat will be on the water for all boats assistance and will monitor channel 72.
To encourage participation a poker run will be offered with the race series.
One card will be drawn for each race team participating on race day by the PRO at the end of racing. This will be recorded on the poker score sheet. The race teams will receive two cards for the Firecracker and the winner will be the five best cards out of 7 possible cards. All cards to be drawn from one deck of cards for each fleet unless more than 7 boats are in a fleet then two decks will be used for that fleet. If a duplicate card is drawn with a two deck system the card will be buried and the top card of the remaining deck will be the next card for that team.
Both Spin and none spin will have a winning hand. The winner of each will receive………
